Jack Raven is a Psychic Medium who talks to spirits. As the owner of Raven Eradications, she travels the country to assist the dead in moving onward with the help of her partner Mojo, a Tamaskan wolfdog.
In this second in the series, she’s in Cathville, Arkansas, to chase off a spooky mist in the woods where real estate broker Dexter Joubert and his business partners plan to build a shopping mall.
Dexter has more problems than an ecto-mist and construction delays. He’s got some good old local boys who want to keep a bunch of mall shoppers out of their neck of the woods, dubious financial dealings, and his own jaded reputation. There’s also the little matter of a pretty, young, and very dead real estate agent who’s got a clump of his hair in her hand, and a secret in her cold, still heart.
Ex-boyfriend and ex-con, Levi Cordona, tags along to win back Jack’s heart and prove he’s not a common criminal. Together, they get uncomfortable in a twelve foot, barely road-legal camp trailer in some wickedly weird and unwelcoming backwoods, and Jack learns the land’s nefarious history and the truth that lies buried in its soil.
The Jack Raven Ghost Mystery Series is clean, cozy, and supernatural.

A very good book, really deserving of more than four stars (it takes an Act of Congress for me to award a book five stars). Well-written for the most part, although the author occasionally likes a run-on sentence, one connected with commas rather than broken into two or joined with a semi-colon; well-edited, also, and the present-tense writing style that crops up now and then seems to work for this novel. The entire cast of characters is entertaining and intriguing while the mystery itself is complex, with past and present intertwining to add layers to the story. The small southern town in which most of the action of the novel takes place becomes almost a character in itself. I tend to shy away from "paranormal" mysteries, which tend to be slick and unbelievable, but this story weaves the ghost/ghost hunter theme carefully into the story without making it ridiculous.Product details

The Cathville Haunting Jack Raven Ghost Mystery Book 2 edition by Robin G Austin Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
This is the best paranormal series I have read in a long time. You can’t put it down. What’s more, it has some credibility. Can’t wait till I start #3.
I like easy flowing stories. And that is what this book is. It isn't predictable at all. It keeps your mind thinking about it even when you walk away from it so you go right back to it. A very good read.
This is the 2nd book in the Jack Raven series. Ms. Austin writes with an ease that indicates familiarity with her subject. Her characters are well developed and draw the reader into a relationship that lingers after the last page. There are no distracting language or punctuation errors, so the story is fluid and easy to read. Best of all, this (and the first book in the series!) is a good, old-fashioned ghost story that will send shivers down your spine. Just like they are supposed to. Very highly recommended.
I love a good mystery but as a person that has lived my whole life in Arkansas, I resent this author. She spent 80% of this story denigrating the people and the beautiful state of Arkansas. What do I know though? I am just a big haired, tobacco chewing, beer guzzling, bug infested, unintelligent, backward buffoon. I feel so badly about myself, I'll just have to drive my tractor down to the Piggly Wiggly and buy myself a couple cases of beer and some greasy food just to drown my sorrows. Hey, I live in the stat of Arkansas....it is not even fit to bring a dog to without multiple shots.
This ghostly mystery was a fun read. While the supernatural is involved, it's written in a cozy mystery style so it's not scary. The main character and her love interest made things entertaining. There is a lot of talk about fried foods and fried pickles in particular that seriously made me want to try one. Are fried pickles really a food? Where do I get them? I will be on the lookout...
Mystery readers might be pleased to find shades of Stephanie Plum coming into play here and there, albeit with an otherworldly twist. There is a bit of that style humor, which keeps things light.
The mystery itself kept me guessing.
All in all a good read if you're in need of a light escape.
This is an excellent book with compelling characters, a strong, smart female protagonist with a satisfying conclusion. I recommend this series!
this is the second book in the series, i enjoyed it as much as I did the first. It is a fast read for a nice afternoon or evening. There is enough mystery and spooky to go well together and give you a great story. I recommend this series...
